Matthew Cormier


The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office most wanted person of the week is:

Matthew Cormier of Caruthers. A judge has issued a bench warrant for failing to report to court on charges of auto theft and the theft of a gun.

Last month, Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a ranch in Kerman to take a report of a stolen Kawasaki Mule utility vehicle and a loaded handgun, which was stored in one of the vehicle’s compartments.

A be on the lookout was issued and later that afternoon a deputy spotted the utility vehicle parked on the outskirts of Tranquillity. As the deputy approached it, a man went running away into a field. Deputies organized a perimeter and eventually captured the man, later identified as Matthew Cormier. Deputies searched his backpack and found the loaded stolen handgun.

Deputies booked Cormier into the Fresno County Jail where he spent five days in custody. He was released as part of probation pre-trial supervision.

Matthew Cormier is white, 29 years old, 5’6”, 150 lbs. with brown eyes and brown hair.
