Ivan Acevedo

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office most wanted person of the week is:

Ivan Acevedo of Fresno.  An arrest warrant has been issued for charges of DUI and evading police.

A Fresno County Sheriff’s deputy responded to home to investigate a disturbance.  As the deputy walked past a SUV parked in the driveway, he noticed a man in the driver’s seat holding a beer.  As the deputy attempted to evaluate him for DUI, the man sped away.  Fearing that he may hurt or kill someone, the deputy pursued the driver, later identified as Ivan Acevedo.  After Acevedo reached speeds over 100 mph and ran stops signs, the deputy cancelled his pursuit.  As the deputy looked ahead, he noticed Acevedo lost control and crashed into an electrical pole.  The collision sparked a fire and seriously injured Acevedo, leading EMS to transport him to the hospital.

The deputy submitted this case to the District Attorney’s Office, which was accepted.  An arrest warrant is now active for the arrest of Acevedo on charges of DUI and evading police.  He was also driving on a suspended license and was on probation for a previous DUI.

Ivan Acevedo is 28 years old, 5’8”, 180 lbs. with brown eyes and black hair.  He has a tattoo of the letter ‘W’ on his left hand.
