The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office most wanted person of the week is:
Martin Benavides of Fresno. A judge has issued a bench warrant related to charges of assault with a deadly weapon and theft.
Deputies responded to a home in the area of S. Chestnut and E. Mountain View Avenues and contacted a man who had been assaulted. The victim explained that Martin Benavides showed up to collect money that was owed to him. An argument ensued and Benavides attacked the man, hitting him with an object. As he lied injured on the ground, Benavides stole his barbeque and cell phone, then left the home.
Deputies later located and arrested Benavides. He was booked into the Fresno County Jail. He spent nine days in custody and was let out as part of a probation pre-trial supervision agreement. Benavides has since failed to show up to a scheduled court hearing.
Martin Benavides is 61 years old, 5’3”, 160 lbs., with brown eyes and black hair. He has several tattoos of dragons.
